Our Story
How We Started
Taiwan Tea Connection began with one simple, focused mission: to introduce premium Taiwan oolong tea to tea drinkers in the United States.
Taiwan oolong can be found in specialty tea shops, but the selection is usually small — a few teas among many sourced from around the world. That is why Taiwan’s premium oolong remains a HIDDEN TREASURE. There are many kinds of oolong, and each category holds great depth waiting to be explored. Taiwan’s artisan tea makers are masters of their craft, with skills passed down through generations and sharpened by national competitions and demanding local tea drinkers.
Discovering Taiwan’s tea
Visiting tea regions such as Lugu, AliShan and PingLin is an unforgettable experience: farms nestled against mountain slopes, ever-changing clouds and mist, and mountain ranges that roll on to the horizon. Surely such beautiful places nurture the perfect tea leaves.
Most of all, it is how people in Taiwan connect through tea. Buying tea there is never impersonal. You are invited to sit down and taste, and while the tea steeps again and again you talk about tea, family, work and life. Other visitors may join in, and the visit can last an hour or a whole afternoon.
